We're at the pointy end of the tennis now with the highly anticipated Australian Open grand finals kicking off this weekend ... BUT beware of dodgy scalpers if you are trying to secure tickets online.

Overseas scammers have been selling off fakes, meaning more than 400 people have been turned away from the gates at Melbourne Park because their tickets are not valid.

Seats to this weekend’s deciders are being sold online for up to $7970 above face value.

Tickets are on average, around $650 but one post had men’s finals seats advertised for $8625.

“Genuine fans miss out on seeing their heroes because of unauthorised tickets,” tournament director Craig Tiley said.

Two victims of the scalpers were Japanese tourists, who'd travelled to Melbourne especially for the Aus Open, paying $530 for tickets, worth $148, before having them torn up because they were not real.

There are still genuine tickets available to some games and ground passes here.
