Two Indian athletes have been kicked out of the Commonwealth Games after more needles were found in the athletes village.

Games Federation president Louise Martin has today said that the syringes were found in a cup in an athlete's bags.

Triple jumper Rakesh Babu and race walker Irfan Thodi have been suspended and their accreditation has been revoked.

The pair will be sent home on the next available flight.

Under the rules of the Games, only medical practitioners and athletes with a medical condition such as diabetes can bring needles into the athletes' village.

This is the second time that the Indian Team has been in breach of the no-needles policy during these Games, with a doctor from the boxing team reprimanded for not disposing of a syringe properly prior to the opening ceremony.
