The Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed Australian woman Justine Ruszczyk has released a full statement following the tragedy.

Through Tom Plunkett - the attorney of officer Mohamed Noor - the following statement was released on Twitter:

There are 'several serious investigations' currently underway to determine the events that transpired that lead to Ruszczyk's death.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) conducting the investigation said that “initial interviews with officers” were yet to be completed 2 days on.

Husband-to-be Don Damond spoke to the media of the death of his fiancee.

“Our hearts are broken and we utterly devastated by the loss of Justine,” he said.

“As you know, it was Justine who called 911 on Saturday evening, reporting what she believed was an active sexual assault occurring nearby.”
