Baby boom in QLD

Article heading image for We All Know What You Lot Were Doing During Cyclone Debbie

Nine months on from Cyclone Debbie, and it turns out most of North Queensland dealt with two weeks without power, internet and some road access in the exact same way..... in their bedrooms.....

A so-called 'baby boom' has put staff at the region's hospitals under the pump over the Christmas period. At Proserpine Hospital alone, there've been 17 babies born between December 21 and January 11.

The influx of babies arriving has meant some mums have been forced to deliver in standard ward rooms because the entire maternity ward was full, meaning there were no spare birthing suites.
