Security footage and photos of a woman appearing to steal a charity donation tin for the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne has gone viral.

Facebook user Analyce Grech posted the video to her own page on Monday, claiming security cameras at her family business had captured the whole thing on Sunday morning.

She's attached images and footage of the woman, claiming she "stole the FULL Royal Children's Hospital collection tin from my families Ferguson Plarre store in Airport West."

Her video has clocked up over 1 million views already, and shared over 23,000 times.

She has urged anyone who recognises the woman to please contact her or Moonee Ponds Police Station, "...as we would like to find out who would sink low enough to steal a tin that was full of change ready to be sent off to the hospital to help sick children."

People are commenting on the post in droves, many of them calling the woman's behaviour 'disgraceful'.

"People's generosity for seriously ill children..Hope she gets caught...bloody disgrace," one man has commented.

Others are being more gentle in their approach.

"Go easy no one knows her circumstances," one woman wrote.

One man has even pointed the blame elsewhere.

"Stealing is wrong but you have to blame the government for this, people are finding it hard with income earned vs living expenses nowadays".
