A Queensland woman has been charged after allegedly riding a horse through the drive-thru of a Logan bottle shop, while more than four times the legal alcohol limit.

Officers attended the Logan City Tavern on Monday night after a woman refused to leave the premises, finding the 51-year-old trotting through the bottle-o, appearing heavily intoxicated.

She was arrested and taken to the local police station, where she allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.226 percent. Council workers were called in to take the horse back to its Marsden address.

The woman has since been charged with 'being in charge of a horse whilst under the influence of liquor'. She is due to appear in court on June 26.
