Queensland Police are edging closer to finding a man who stuffed up a mugging at Darra Train Station yesterday morning, tripping and falling while trying to get away with her handbag.

It happened at about 5.30am.. the man apparently jumping from a stolen car and running up the stairs at the station, wrestling a handbag from the woman.

Trouble is, the guy tripped and fell as he tried to get away.

The 52 year old woman, who wrestled the bag away from the attacker, needed paramedic treatment at the scene for injuries which are not considered serious.

A video of the attempted robbery has been posted on Facebook by Queensland Police, and has already been shared more than 185,000 times.

All up, police are looking for the man in relation to four separate incidents.

  1. The theft of a black Holden Commodore station wagon from a place at Mount Gravatt at around 2am Tuesday morning.
  2. The Darra station attempted mugging (seen in the video)
  3. Three men following a woman at around 6.50am Tuesday at Forest Lake. The men were acting suspicious. The woman managed to get away by getting onto a bus.
  4. The fourth incident happened at 7am - a woman approached in Inala by the group who stole her handbag and a blue Kia Cerato car (Queensland Registration 476 SPO)

Police have released descriptions of two of the men -

The first is described as Asian in appearance, in his early 20s, around 168cms tall with a slim build and was last seen wearing dark clothing and red shoes.

The second (seen in the video) is described as being Aboriginal in appearance, in his 20s, around 180cms tall and had slim build, short dark hair with a wave in it and was wearing black football shorts and a black jacket and running shoes.
