Cyclist Survives Being Dragged 200m By Ute

A man's lucky to be alive after a nasty bicycle crash on the Central Coast this morning.

The 57 year old was hit by a ute at Terrigal and dragged about 200 metres, after his bike became tangled in a rope.

The rider was unable to release himself as he was attached to the bike by the clip in the pedals.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew him to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, nursing serious abrasions.

It's believed the driver had no idea the cyclist was being dragged behind him.
