An elderly woman has been left shaken after a terrifying ordeal at Morisset.
The 75 year old had a knife held to her back at Morisset Square Shopping Centre at around 2:30pm yesterday afternoon.
A police officer drew her gun demanding the accused - a 46 year old man - drop the weapon.
He refused and the officer called for back up.
The man eventually let the woman go and officers tasered him, causing him to fall to the ground.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital to be treated for a head injury.
The man was later released and charged with several offences. He'll face Toronto Local Court today.
