A yacht filled with more than half a tonne of cocaine has been intercepted at Toronto, following a major police investigation.
It's alleged 700 kilos of the drugs were recovered, worth an estimated $245 million dollars.
Police had been tracking the boat from Tahiti, before it stopped in Coffs Harbour and made its way to Catalina Bay on November 13.
Three men - aged 47, 63 and 68 - have been arrested and charged over the alleged importation, and have been refused bail in Newcastle Court ahead of their next appearance in January.
The trio face the prospect of life in prison.
The investigation into the importation of cocaine by private vessels involved officers from NSW Police, AFP and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
They were assisted by the Australian Border Force.
