Newcastle Gets Visit From Warship

HMAS Newcastle will make her return to her namesake city today.

The Navy frigate is due to arrive in port between 2:30pm and 3:30pm and will be welcomed with a seven-gun salute from Fort Scratchley.

The ship will reply with a ceremonial gun.

HMAS Newcastle's crew will take part in several ANZAC Day events around the city.

Unfortunately the public won't be allowed onto the ship during her visit.

The frigate's expected to leave on Wednesday.
