A motorbike rider has crashed at Kurri Kurri after being caught speeding on the Hunter Expressway.
Highway Patrol were carrying out radar checks just after 5pm on Sunday, when they clocked the 28 year old doing 160 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.
They tried to catch up to the rider, but lost sight.
He was later found seriously injured in Barton Street, where he'd crashed into a guardrail breaking both of his legs.
He's now listed as being in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital.
Police say he'll be interviewed once he leaves hospital.
