The EPA is worried the person who killed several magpies around Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast last year has struck again.
Dead birds have been turning up in Coal Point and Budgewoi, and tests have shown one of the birds ingested a cocktail of pesticides not readily available to the public.
The same chemicals were discovered in dead birds found in the same area in 2016.
EPA Director Hunter Region Karen Marler says there's big concerns other animals - or pets - could be exposed to the deadly pesticides.
“We know people have used food in the past to lure and kill birds. Please make sure your pets do not eat anything foreign when on their daily walks.”
