Three Boys Steal Charity Tin, Rob Servo

One of the boys is just 14 years old

Police have charged three teenagers over a series of robberies around Lake Macquarie.

The group's accused of breaking into Charlestown Square at 11:30pm on Christmas Eve, stealing a charity tin from a fast food restaurant.

A few hours later, the boys allegedly entered a service station in Windale while armed with knives, stealing cigarettes, ice cream and cash.

While it's claimed the boys stole soft drink and chocolates from Lake Macquarie Fair shopping centre at Mount Hutton at around 4:30am on Boxing Day.

Detectives launched an investigation and arrested the boys, aged 14, 15 and 16 in Windale.

They're all facing break and enter charges.
