The first homebuyers grant will be cut back to $10,000 from July 1st.
The new State Government has decided to end a $5,000 boost that was put in place by the Liberals, which would have taken the grant to $15,000.
The Treasurer, Ben Wyatt, says the boost didn’t result in higher first homebuyer rates.
Ceasing the boost early will allow the State Government to fund higher priority areas while ensuring Western Australian first home buyers continue to be eligible for generous Government assistance

It’s expected to save the WA Government around $20 million.
