New Funding For Preschools In Griffith And Yenda

Preschools in Griffith and Yenda will receive $35,000 from the NSW Government's Quality Learning Environment fund to go towards enhancing the quality of their service.

Member for Murray, Austin Evans, has welcomed the news that preschools will have up-to-date and quality education.

“Griffith East Preschool will receive $15,000, Griffith Central Preschool $5,000 and Yenda Preschool Kindergarten $15,000 to assist their ongoing commitment to ensuring children in the Griffith and Yenda areas have access to top quality early childhood education, which, as the local member, makes me extremely proud,” Mr Evans said.

Minister for Early Childhood Education, Sarah Mitchell, said the response from the sector has been overwhelmingly positive and she is extremely proud of the Quality Learning Environments fund.

“Not only will this funding improve the quality of the learning environment for children right across the state, parents can also rest assured that their children are having the best start to their educational journeys as possible,” she said.

The funding will be used to cover items like shade cloths for safe outdoor play, kitchen gardens to teach children where food comes from, or an outdoor jungle gym to encourage hand-eye coordination.
