It will be safer for children returning to Verity Christian College in Griffith this week with a new school zone now in place.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said a new 40 km/h school zone is now in place for about 300 metres on Stafford Road, east of the Murrumbidgee Avenue intersection.
“In general, Roads and Maritime install 40 km/h school zones on roads with an active direct access point from the school.”
“The 40km/h school zone will operate between 8am and 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
“Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website www.saferroadsnsw.com.au to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in an area.”
Motorists are reminded to drive to speed limits at all times for the safety of all road users.
