Roads and Maritime Services reminds motorists of changed traffic conditions this month on the Newell and Mid Western highways at West Wyalong as part of the final stage of the West Wyalong Heavy Vehicle Alternate Route project.
Work will involve rebuilding the railway crossings and road approaches as part of the wider work to improve safety and freight productivity on the Newell Highway.
Work will be carried out from Monday 4 June between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday and is expected to take four weeks to complete.
John Holland Rail will be working on the railway crossings at the same time and have planned road closures on the Newell Highway from 6am on Wednesday 13 June to 6pm on Friday 15 June and on the Mid Western Highway from 6am on Sunday 17 June to 10pm on Tuesday 19 June.
Traffic control, a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h and detours will be in place at each location for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
