Roads and Maritime Services says results of it's most recent heavy vehicle compliance action show that rogue operators are continuing to put lives at risk, and give law-abiding truckies a bad name.

Operation Shield say more than 10,300 trucks inspected over one week in NSW, and there were 119 breaches of fatigue laws, 926 defects and 257 infringements.

Director of Compliance Roger Weeks says at Hay, one driver was found to have only had a four hour break in a 24 hour work period, while another hadn't had a day off in over a week.
