The Sturt Highway near Narrandera, the Midwestern Highway near West Wyalong and the entire length of the Snowy Mountains Highway have been named as hotspots for animal strikes in our region.

Roads and Maritime are advising those hitting the road to be extra careful, with the current dry conditions seeing increasing numbers of animals at roadsides in search of feed and water, both native wildlife and livestock.

The NSW Farmers Association is also asking those taking to country roads to be patient and give way to any livestock crossing the road, as an act of kindness towards farmers.
