The state government has unveiled a new draft 40-year blueprint for the future of the NSW transport system, with the focus being on better regional connections, and customer-focused, technology-driven services.

The Future Transport 2056 Draft Regional Strategy outlines improvements to the network over the coming decades, improving access to ports as well as regional inter-connectivity.

Some of the projects identified for investigation in regional NSW include upgrading and sealing major roads like the Kidman Way and Sturt Highway, and better connections between small regional communities, and larger regional centres.
