Wagga City Council has provided an update on the collection of our old kerbside bins, saying there are 58,000 left to be picked up.

They’ll be collecting 3,000 per day over the coming weeks.

The suburbs due to have their bins collected this week are Lloyd, Glenfield Park, Springvale, Tatton, Bourkelands, Tolland, Mount Austin, Kooringal, Turvey Park, Central, Ashmont and Moorong.

For those who still have questions, Council's Community engagement truck, "Charlie" will be at the Ashmont shopping centre today from 3pm.

Meantime, Council says China’s National Sword Policy and its implications for recyclable plastics won’t have any impact on how Wagga residents sort their rubbish for now.

Council and Kurrajong Recycling issued a joint press release, saying the policy has seen changes to the plastics being accepted by China, but locals should continue sorting their recyclables as normal.

The two organisations will continue to monitor the situation and take any further action as required.
