Police have arrested and charged a 34 year old woman, after a vehicle stop in Mount Austin on Friday allegedly uncovered methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $10,000.

It happened on Jack Avenue, officers seizing a package containing 30 grams of the drug.

The woman’s been charged with drug supply.

It was the beginning of a busy few days for Wagga Police, another officer was assaulted during the course of duty on Saturday night.

It’s believed he was taking drug and alcohol affected juvenile home when the officer was assaulted, though he wasn't seriously injured.

Elsewhere, a 33 year old man was issued a $550 fine for failing to leave a licensed premises when instructed, and another man, who was on his way out of the station, having been charged and bailed on a separate offence, was caught stealing a police phone.
