Wagga Catholic school teachers and support staff will walk off the job on Monday next week, stepping up their campaign to retain their right to arbitration by the Fair Work Commission.

Members of the Independent Education Union will also hold Rallies for Rights ,taking to the streets to raise awareness of the issue, with the Wagga action part of rolling stop-work events set to happen across NSW and the ACT.

A statement from the Union says the strike is a last resort, as Catholic employers have failed to respond to the IEU’s attempt to negotiate for almost a year now.
