The union representing Catholic school teachers in the Wagga diocese is threatening industrial action next term, unless they’re granted the same right to arbitration as public school teachers.

The Independent Education union says Catholic employers want the power to veto a dispute being arbitrated by the Fair Work Commission.

This week, they’ll be presented with a petition, bearing hundreds of signatures from 16 different schools against the move.
