The majority of Riverina Regional Tourism’s member councils have elected to continue the tourism organisation at a meeting in Wagga this week.

Under the restructuring of regional tourism announced by Destination NSW last year, the Riverina region will merge with Murray, to form Destination Riverina Murray, but local groups elected to keep a smaller group to continue the focus on local tourism matters.

Chair Craig Sinclair says they’re disappointed that Wagga City Council has chosen not to remain part of RRT beyond June 30, but encouraged by the fact that they will still contribute to the co-ordination of the Taste Riverina festival.
