Children Approached in Cootamundra

Police are investigating reports of a child approach in Cootamundra, saying the most recent incident, reported on Sunday, saw a man allegedly approach a group of boys in Wallendoon Street at about 2pm.

Officers have been told the man, aged in his 60s, attempted to speak to the boys but they walked away.

They don't believe an offence was committed, but are continuing inquiries.

In the meantime, local parents are being encouraged to discuss the 'Safe People, Safe Places' messages with their children.
