The Murrumbidgee Local Health District's Community Care Intake Service, that helps connect locals with allied and other community health services after an illness or hospital admission, is celebrating its first birthday.

It began with 270 referrals in its first month, it now averages 1300 referrals a month from people living in smaller communities across the Riverina.

Community Care Manager Summa Stephens says the service will continue its District-wide rollout in 2018, ensuring all communities and service providers have access to its benefits.
