Almost $9 million worth of major projects for Cootamundra and Gundagai have been given the green light this week, the money coming from the Stronger Communities Fund, announced along with last year’s council mergers.

For Cootamundra they include, an upgrade to the town’s ageing water mains, and a water park at the local swimming pool, and for Gundagai an adventure park, accessible main street public toilets, and upgrades to the Visitor Centre and netball courts.

Member for Cootamundra, Katrina Hodgkinson met with the Administrator of the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, Stephen Sykes and a representative of NSW Premier and Cabinet to officially endorse the major projects shortlisted for funding, before visiting some of the project sites.
