New research released by Royal Lifesaving has shown 7% of Murrumbidgee River users tested were over the legal alcohol limit for driving.

The highest blood alcohol content of people surveyed was 0.334, which is more than six and a half times over the driving limit.

Amy Peden from Royal Lifesaving says anything over 0.05 is very dangerous when hitting our local waterways, and can increase the risk of fatal drownings.
