The local branch of the Australian Paramedics Association has expressed concern at a plan to staff Coolamon’s new Ambulance Station with a model that utilises volunteers.

Ambulance NSW plans to guarantee just one fully qualified paramedic on at a time in Coolamon, supported by a volunteer.

Union delegate John McCormack believes the public in Coolamon deserves better, calling for two full time paramedics day and night.
