Conkey Dissapointed at Electoral Office Move

Wagga Mayor Greg Conkey has spoken out against a move by the Federal Electoral Commission to relocate it’s office from Narrandera to Wagga, saying he’s passionate about the growth and development of the city, but not at the expense of surrounding towns and villages.

Cr Conkey says Narrandera will lose three workers as a result of the move, which will have an impact on that community, and he’s written to the Commissioner and local MP Michael McCormack to express his disappointment.

He’s hoping it will send a strong message to other government departments thinking of relocating offices within the region.
