Wagga City Council says the Blue-green algae alert has been lowered for the majority of Lake Albert, with a 30 metre exclusion zone in place at the northern and eastern shore of the lake.

Members of the community are still advised against making contact with the water in the exclusion zone, which still has visible algal scum.

Council says it has been working closely with the organisers of this weekend’s Barry Carne Interstate Ski Challenge, to minimise any impact on the event, and have been regularly testing the water.
