Wagga City Council has resolved to decline an offer of $1.43 million in funding for a proposed village sewer scheme in San Isidore, from the state government's Restart NSW Regional Water and Waste Water backlog scheme.

They've instead endorsed a proposal to offer a one-off subsidy of up to $690 for upgrades to onsite septic management systems.

The plans have now been placed on public exhibition, open for comment until January 29.
