Police have launched the first phase of Operation Chrome across the Southern Region, in an effort to reduce road trauma and save lives on rural roads.

Officers from all Police Districts in the Southern Region, including Riverina and Murrumbidge, will work alongside Traffic and Highway Patrol, targeting poor driver behaviours that cost lives on rural roads.

Regional commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol, Superintendent Bob Ryan says they make no apologies for taking licenses away from anyone who puts themselves and other road users at risk through dangerous driving behaviour.
