The Humanitarian Settlement Service, which has been delivered across the Riverina for the past 12 years by St Vincent De Paul, in partnership with the Multicultural Council of Wagga, will cease operating at the end of the month.

The Federally-funded HSS program is coming to an end, to be replaced by a Humanitarian Settlement Service Program, that will be overseen by Red Cross Australia.

Between October 2005 and September 2017, the HSS program has assisted 484 families, or 1694 individuals in the Riverina, injecting 2.5 million dollars into the local economies of Griffith, Leeton, Wagga and Albury through the purchase of basic household goods.
