A five-year, $70 million project to improve safety and freight efficiency on Gocup Road is continuing, with the latest upgraded section, about 13 kilometres north of Tumut, now complete.

The progress has been welcomed by local state MPs Daryl Maguire and Katrina Hodgkinson, who say the Stuckey’s Creek project, which started last year, has provided a safer environment for motorists by rebuilding and widening a 1.8 kilometre section of road and significant safety improvements.

Spring will see the next stage of works get underway, upgrading sections at Doctors Hill and Halfway Hill, including the addition of two climbing lanes.
