Grain growers are being warned to be on the lookout for mouse activity at sowing time, with the pests expected to cause economic damage in some areas.


It comes after recent monitoring by the Grains Research and Development Corporation indicate mouse numbers are already on the rise across the south of the state, with ample food from last year’s bumper harvest.


Experts predict numbers will continue to climb in the lead-up to winter crop sowing.
