The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has issued a warning to local residents that they could be at risk this thunderstorm asthma season, even if you don’t think you have asthma.

The next four weeks are tipped to be a period of greater risk for asthma sufferers, as well as those with allergies and hayfever, or other respiratory conditions.

Director of Public Health,Tracey Oakman, says anyone who’s been diagnosed with asthma should carry their medication with them at all times during the high risk period.

Sufferers can also sign up for free SMS alerts when conditions are particularly severe.
