Herbicide Resistance High for Annual Ryegrass

Farmers Urged Look for Spray Survivors

Herbicide Resistance High for Annual Ryegrass

Riverina grain farmers are being urged to do their bit to help stop herbicide resistance developing, with the results of recent surveys showing high levels of A ‘fop’ and B resistance in annual ryegrass west of the Newell Highway to Narrandera.

The Grains Research and Development Corporation teamed up with CSU via the Graham Centre to conduct the surveys of the entire Northern agricultural region.

Manager of the Herbicide Resistance Testing Service, John Broster says preventing any weeds that survive a herbicide application from setting seed is the key.
