Man dies after seven-vehicle crash at Mirrool
Vehicles collide during a dust storm
A 60 year old man has died in Canberra hospital after a crash involving a total of seven vehicles on the Newell Highway at Mirrool yesterday, which happened during a severe dust storm.
Police say at about 10.50am a Toyota Hilux collided with a semi-trailer, a B-double then collided with the rear of a Hilux, causing another Hilux, towing a caravan, to swerve into the northbound lanes.
A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Holden Colorado travelling south, then stopped, and were hit from behind by a bus.
The 60 year old man was the driver of the Colorado, he was airlifted to Canberra hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the bus, also a 60 year old man, was not injured, but was taken to West Wyalong Hospital for mandatory tests.
