Riverina MP Michael McCormack's name is one of the latest to be dragged into the cloud of uncertainty over citizenship in Canberra, with questions raised over another 18 MPs.

Labor named McCormack as one of eight Liberals who have citizenship questions to answer, after a number of their own MPs were named.

news.com.au reports that Mr McCormack has a maternal grandfather who was born in Greece, but the Greek Embassy does not have him registered on Greek Municipal records, which is a requirement of being a citizen.
