Minister spruiks shock devices for fatigued truck drivers

Pavey calls industry meeting

State Transport Minister Melinda Pavey is talking up the benefits of what's been labelled 'electric shock' treatment, to stop fatigued truckies from crashing on our roads.

She's hoping the trucking industy will accellerate the adoption of the technology, which is seen in high-end vehicles.

Ms Pavey says drastic action needs to be taken to reverse the trend.

The devices use cameras connected to a device in the chair or a bracelet, that delivers a strong vibration when it detects signs of fatigue.
