Temora Shire’s new $1.67 million Tara-Bectric Road Bridge has been officially opened, with the significant upgrade works set to reduce freight costs for local grain growers.

The project saw the construction of a new road bridge, demolition of the existing structure and road re-alignment works, with $1.45 million from the state government’s Fixing Country Roads program.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke says the new bridge will be able to support higher productivity vehicles, cutting transport costs and creating efficiency savings for the grain industry.

Roads Minister Melinda Pavey was in the region to officially open the bridge yesterday.
