Wagga City Councillors have resolved to enter into an agreement with Service NSW, aimed at making it easier for new businesses to open in the city, by reducing red tape.

The program developed by the Small Business Commissioner and Service NSW provides a number of benefits to Councils and businesses, including the introduction of 'decision ready' applications with reduced fees, and effective tools to help boost the local economy.

Currently anyone wishing to open a cafe, small bar or restaurant would have to deal with up to 13 agencies and 75 regulations, the process can take as long as 18 months.

The Easy to do Business initiative aims to reduce that to 90 days.
