A new blueprint has been unveiled to help guide tourism development in the Riverina Murray region, listing 40 priority projects, and an overall aim for visitor numbers.

The new Destination Management Plan provides a strategic direction, as the region looks to increase visitor numbers by more than 45 percent by the year 2031, bringing the overall figure up to 12.47 million.

The plan recognises the overall health of the current Riverina Murray visitor economy, and identifies nine strategic development themes.

Among the priority projects are a Hume and Hovell adventure trail, a Griffith wine and food hub, and a Multisport cycling complex at Pomingalarna near Wagga.
