No Budget surprises, but plenty of investment for the Riverina
Health, rail, roads and education
The NSW Government has handed down its 2018-19 Budget, and while there were a number of big ticket items for our region, there were no new surprises in the papers released yesterday.
There’s $20 million to continue work on stage 3 of the Wagga Base Hospital redevelopment, and confirmation also came for the $60 million dollar upgrade of the Junee to Griffith Rail Line.
$19.5 million will be spent on the Gocup Road, $10 million on the Wagga PCYC and $1 million for the Adelong Police Station.
There’s also money for Narrandera’s Connected Learning Centre, and the Cootamundra Ambulance Station, and there was mention of a new primary school for Wagga, but no funding amount, location, start date or completion date was given.
