Riverina Vets are warning its vital dogs are up to date with vaccinations, with cases of Parvovirus on the increase.

Parvo is highly contagious and can prove deadly, with affected pets suffering heart muscle damage that can lead to lifelong cardiac issues.

All puppies over the age of six weeks should be covered against the disease, especially in Wagga, which is a known hotspot.

Dog owners urged to check with their vet about the best protection for our region.
