A nine-month investigation into PFAS contamination around the Wagga RAAF Base has found there are 3 source areas of contamination, which is migrating in surface water run-off to Gumly Gumly Wetland and Marshalls Creek.

The Department of Defence says there is no cause for concern, with all findings low-risk, however the report does state that "the extent of contamination in groundwater bores exceeding the health guidelines for drinking water, is limited to the Gumly Gumly wetland and surrounding properties".

Further investigations are continuing in regard to potential human risk.

Anyone with questions about the Wagga investigation contact the PFAS hotline on 1800 931 700.
