The NSW government is promising Riverina motorists that around $120 will be shaved off the average Green Slip, if it’s new CTP reforms are approved by Parliament this week.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says under the new model, there will be a new safety net allowing all injured road users to access benefits for loss of income and medical expenses for up to 6 months, and lump sum compensation will be retained for those with long term injuries.

NSW motorists currently pay the highest CTP premiums in the country, according to the government, that’s mainly due to a significant spike in minor injury claims and related costs, insurer profits and fraud.

If approved by Parliament, the changes will likely come into effect in December.
